U of T professor elected president of Northern Finance Association

University of Toronto study finds action video games bolster sensorimotor skills

TORONTO, ON -- A study led by University of Toronto psychology researchers has found that people who play action video games such as Call of Duty or Assassin’s Creed seem to learn a new sensorimotor skill more quickly than non-gamers do. Sudden unexplained jumps or drops in a stock’s price bode ill for the long run says new study from the Rotman School of Management

Toronto, ON - What should investors make of sudden jumps or drops in stock prices that occur for no apparent reason? The phenomenon is hardly unusual: focusing on extreme positive and negative price shocks, University of Toronto accounting professors find that about half are unaccompanied by earnings surprises or any other news that would account for them.
