Finland’s President to present scholarships and have discussions with U of T experts

Toron­to, ON — On Fri­day, Octo­ber 10, the Uni­ver­si­ty of Toron­to will host a vis­it by His Excel­len­cy Sauli Niin­istö, Pres­i­dent of the Repub­lic of Fin­land. The Pres­i­dent will present schol­ar­ships to Finnish Stud­ies stu­dents and par­tic­i­pate in two sep­a­rate dis­cus­sions with Uni­ver­si­ty of Toron­to experts. The first dis­cus­sion, “The Future of Finnish Stud­ies in North Amer­i­ca”, will be mod­er­at­ed by Pro­fes­sor Emer­i­tus Bör­je Vähämä­ki of the U of T’s Finnish Stud­ies Pro­gram. Lat­er that after­noon the Pres­i­dent will dis­cuss “Cur­rent devel­op­ments in inter­na­tion­al affairs” with Prof. Jan­ice Stein, Direc­tor of the U of T’s Munk School of Glob­al Affairs.
