U of T facts and figures for 2010 – 2011

TORONTO, ON – To aid you in your back-to-school coverage, we’ve compiled a list of the most pertinent facts and figures about the University of Toronto for the coming school year.
STUDENTS:
The University of Toronto is expecting a total of 78,676 students for 2010 – 2011.
Undergraduate:
The University of Toronto is expecting 63,531 undergraduate students for 2010 – 2011.
- Domestic: 56,248
- International: 7,283
St. George campus is expecting 40,914 undergraduate students.
Scarborough campus is expecting 10,423 undergraduate students.
Mississauga campus is expecting 11,296 undergraduate students.
*Toronto School of Theology is expecting 898 undergraduate students
Graduate:
The University of Toronto is expecting 15,145 graduate students for 2010 – 2011.
- Domestic: 13,420
- International: 1,725
St. George campus is expecting 14,408 graduate students.
Scarborough campus is expecting 66 graduate students.
Mississauga campus is expecting 298 graduate students.
*Toronto School of Theology is expecting 373 students
Most of our international students come from China, South Korea, the United States, India
and Hong Kong, although we also have a strong international student population from Pakistan, Japan and the United Kingdom.
FACULTY AND STAFF:
The University of Toronto has 15,272 faculty and staff members for 2010 – 2011.
- Faculty: 9,132
- Staff: 6,140
ALUMNI:
The University of Toronto has 489,508 alumni around the world.
PROGRAMS:
Undergraduate:
- The University of Toronto offers approximately 600 undergraduate programs.
- The undergraduate programs with the largest enrolments typically include those in Business/Commerce, Life Sciences and Engineering. Some of the most popular are Management, Psychology, English, Biology and Human Biology.
Graduate:
- The University of Toronto offers approximately 170 graduate programs. This includes doctoral and master’s programs.
- The University of Toronto offers approximately 40 professional programs.

TUITION:
DOMESTIC STUDENTS
Undergraduate Programs:
- Tuition cost for domestic undergraduate students ranges from approximately $5,200 to $11,000, depending on the program.
- The University of Toronto has a policy that ensures no student admitted to a program at the university will be unable to enrol or complete the program because they do not have sufficient funds.
Graduate Programs (Graduate Studies/Master’s/PhD/Professional Programs):
- Tuition cost for domestic graduate students ranges from approximately $6,000 to $30,000, depending on the program. All doctoral stream graduate programs guarantee financial support for eligible graduate students. Partial funding may be available to graduate students in other programs.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Undergraduate Programs:
- Tuition cost for international undergraduate students ranges from approximately $20,000 to $26,000, depending on the program.
Graduate Programs (Graduate Studies/Master’s/PhD/Professional Programs):
- Tuition cost for international graduate students ranges from approximately $20,000 to $34,000, depending on the program.

RESIDENCES AND CLUBS:
The University of Toronto has more than 400 student clubs across all three campuses.
St. George Campus:
- The University of Toronto at St. George has 10 residences: seven college residences, 89 Chestnut, Grad House and Family Housing.
- The St. George campus is expecting 6,156 students in its 10 residences for 2010 – 2011.
- The University of Toronto has a housing guarantee that covers all students entering their first year.
Scarborough campus:
The Scarborough campus is expecting 1138 students in residence for 2010 – 2011.
Mississauga campus:
The Mississauga campus is expecting 765 students in residence for 2010 – 2011.
BUDGET AND COST
- The University of Toronto’s operating budget for 2010 – 2011 is $1.57 billion.
- The University of Toronto’s estimated economic impact in the GTA is approximately $5.4 billion.
