Canada’s most famous moustache is coming to U of T

TORONTO, ON -- Chris Hadfield, the first Canadian to command the International Space Station (ISS), will be speaking to University of Toronto students, staff and faculty at Convocation Hall on Friday, March 14. This event  recognizes the leadership of U of T’s students who raised almost $150,000 for last year’s Movember men’s health campaign. Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt awards Citizen Lab at University of Toronto a “New Digital Age” Grant

TORONTO, ON — The Citizen Lab at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto, is one of ten non-profits in the U.S. and abroad to receive the New Digital Age Grants, funded through a $1 million donation by Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt. IMFG paper compares the legacies of the Toronto and Montréal amalgamations

TORONTO, ON – A new paper from the Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance (IMFG) about the legacy of the amalgamations of Toronto and Montréal finds that the reforms created cities that are “too big, yet still too small.” As both Toronto and Montréal emerge from local governance crises, the paper looks back at another highly contentious period in Canada’s two biggest cities. Thirty per cent of adults with attention deficit disorder report childhood physical abuse

TORONTO, ON -- Thirty percent of adults with Attention Deficit Disorder or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD) report they were physically abused before they turned 18. This compares to seven per cent of those without ADD/ADHD who were physically abused before 18. Rotman Associate Dean joins new research network to study and design innovative ways of solving public problems

HIV/STI prevention program in Haiti is changing and saving lives

TORONTO, ON - New research from the University of Toronto shows that a little training can go a long way in a desperate situation. Professor Bruce Kidd appointed interim vice-president and principal, UTSC
