Value of police body-worn cameras yet to be proven : researchers

Body-worn cam­eras might not be all they’re cracked up to be—according to a group of researchers from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Toron­to. Body-worn cam­eras have been cred­it­ed with decreas­ing police bru­tal­i­ty and civil­ian com­plaints against offi­cers, but accord­ing to research con­duct­ed by PhD stu­dents Erick Lam­ing and Jihyun Kwon under the super­vi­sion of crim­i­nol­o­gist Scot Wort­ley, there isn’t any con­crete evi­dence to back up these claims.
