A report pub­lished by the Cit­i­zen Lab, a research cen­ter at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Toron­to’s Munk School of Glob­al Affairs, found that both the Win­dows and Android ver­sions of Tencent’s wild­ly pop­u­lar QQ Brows­er gath­er large amounts of per­son­al data and trans­mit them with­out ade­quate encryp­tion.
