Man vs. Machine: Which makes better hires?

New research by Danielle Li and col­leagues finds that com­put­ers make bet­ter hir­ing deci­sions than man­agers when fill­ing sim­pler jobs. To come up with an answer, Li obtained data from a test­ing firm, ana­lyz­ing it along with Mitchell Hoff­man of the Uni­ver­si­ty of Toronto’s Rot­man School of Man­age­ment and Lisa B. Kahn of Yale School of Man­age­ment; they present their find­ings in a new work­ing paper Dis­cre­tion in Hir­ing. Read more.
