U of T and CUPE Reach New Tentative Agreement

TORONTO, ON — The Uni­ver­si­ty of Toron­to announced that CUPE 3902 Unit 1 and the Uni­ver­si­ty have reached a new ten­ta­tive agree­ment.

“We are very pleased that we have reached a ten­ta­tive agree­ment,” said Pro­fes­sor Cheryl Regehr, the Uni­ver­si­ty’s vice-pres­i­dent and provost. “The revised offer of set­tle­ment will now pro­ceed to the next step towards rat­i­fi­ca­tion, which will be a meet­ing of CUPE mem­bers this week.”

“We hope all CUPE Unit 1 mem­bers learn more about the offer, attend the meet­ing and let their voic­es be heard,” said Pro­fes­sor Angela Hild­yard, the University’s Vice-Pres­i­dent, Human Resources & Equi­ty. “We remain hope­ful that the strike will end soon.”
