U of T jazz orchestra launches season with new director Gordon Foote

TORONTO, ON – After 26 years teach­ing in the Jazz Stud­ies Pro­gram at McGill Uni­ver­si­ty direct­ing the award win­ning and inter­na­tion­al­ly known McGill Jazz Orches­tra, Gor­don Foote has accept­ed a posi­tion as direc­tor of the U of T Jazz Orches­tra, in the Fac­ul­ty of Music, at the U of T. He will debut as direc­tor of the U of T Orches­tra with a con­cert on Novem­ber 20, 2012.


WHAT:  Con­cert to launch the UofT Jazz Orches­tra under the direc­tion of Gor­don Foote.

WHO:  The UofT Jazz Orches­tra, fea­tur­ing guest Mike Mur­ley, jazz fac­ul­ty mem­ber, per­form­ing with the big band arrange­ments of his music.
