From 2005 to 2010 Prof. Golden was Board Chair of the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES). In 2010, he became Board Chair of Rise Asset Development, a non-profit microfinance organization providing start-up support loans and business advice to clients with mental health and addiction challenges.

His article ’Transforming Healthcare Organizations’ in Healthcare Quarterly is that journal’s most downloaded article of the past twelve years. Among his awards for teaching are Canada’s Ted Freedman Innovation in Healthcare Education Award and the Canadian Medical Association’s inaugural Eureka Award for Innovation in Physician Education.
