Press Conference: Toronto Waterfront

The Cities Cen­tre at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Toron­to in col­lab­o­ra­tion with a large num­ber of groups and indi­vid­u­als in city plan­ning, archi­tec­ture, design and relat­ed fields will release an open let­ter to City Coun­cil­lors to urge rejec­tion of the pro­pos­al sup­port­ed by the May­or regard­ing the Port Lands.

Present will be the prin­ci­pal authors of the let­ter, includ­ing Paul Bed­ford (for­mer Chief Plan­ner for Toron­to), Richard Flori­da (Mar­tin Pros­per­i­ty Insti­tute), and Richard Som­mer (Dean, U. of T. Fac­ul­ty of Archi­tec­ture), along with sev­er­al of the over 150 urban pro­fes­sion­als who have signed it.

The doc­u­ment and list of sig­na­to­ries is being final­ized today and will be sent to those who receive this release tomor­row morn­ing.
