Largest single research grant in the history of the University of Toronto

TORONTO, ON – Tomor­row at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Toron­to, Pres­i­dent Mer­ic Gertler wel­comes Min­is­ter of State (Sci­ence and Tech­nol­o­gy) Ed Hold­er, who will announce the first recip­i­ent of the inau­gur­al com­pe­ti­tion of the Cana­da First Research Excel­lence Fund dur­ing an offi­cial cer­e­mo­ny.

This will be the largest sin­gle research grant in the his­to­ry of the Uni­ver­si­ty of Toron­to.

Before the announce­ment, Min­is­ter Hold­er will join Dr. Peter Zand­stra on a tour of his lab in the Don­nel­ly Cen­tre for Cel­lu­lar and Bio­mol­e­c­u­lar Research. Mem­bers of the media are invit­ed to attend. Please arrive 15 min­utes ear­ly to sign in at the recep­tion desk.
