Message to Students Regarding Incident on Campus

This message was posted on the University of Toronto Student Portal Friday, July 13:

On July 12, 2012 at approximately 4:30 pm Campus Police responded to a call regarding an assault on the St. George campus.

The accused was apprehended immediately and has been charged by Toronto Police with forcible confinement, sexual assault, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, disguise with intent and overcome resistance choking and is in custody.

The accused is a student at the University and there may be a second victim.  If you are a victim or if you have knowledge of these events, please contact Campus Police or Toronto Police at the numbers below.  Whether or not you contact police, it is important that you – or your friend -  receive  support and assistance. Please contact Community Safety if you are not already getting that support.

Campus Police is available 24 hours a day to deal with the all-important matter of personal safety on campus and the Community Safety Office is available to provide advice and address concerns.
