GENERAL

1. Students

Undergraduate:

  • The University of Toronto has 65,612 undergraduate students in 2012-2013
  • Domestic: 56,380
  • International: 9,232
  • St. George campus has 42,347 undergraduate students
  • Scarborough campus has 11,107 undergraduate students
  • Mississauga campus has 12,158 undergraduate students

Graduate:

  • The University of Toronto has 15,287 graduate students in 2012 – 2013
  • Domestic: 13,210
  • International: 2,077
  • St. George campus has 14,555 graduate students
  • Scarborough campus has 208 graduate students
  • Mississauga campus has 524 graduate students

Most of our international students come from China, South Korea, United States, India and Hong Kong. We also have a significant number of students from Pakistan, Malaysia, Japan and the United Kingdom.

2. Faculty and Staff

  • The University of Toronto has 11,581* faculty members as of September 2011, including 5,553 full-time and 6,028 part-time.
  • The University of Toronto has 6,017** staff members as of September 2011, including 5,681 full-time and 336 part-time.
  • The University of Toronto has 161 librarians as of September 2011.

*The number includes all active faculty members with teaching/research responsibilities but excludes Research Fellows and Teaching Assistants.
**The number includes both unionized and non-unionized employees. UofT also employs 4,528 Teaching Assistants and 839 Sessional Lecturers who are not included above.

3. Alumni

  • The University of Toronto has 508,494 alumni around the world as of Fall 2011.

*The number of individuals (both living and deceased) who have graduated from the University of Toronto is 595,061 as of Fall 2011.

PROGRAMS

Undergraduate

  • The University of Toronto offers approximately 709 undergraduate programs.
  • The undergraduate programs with the largest enrolments typically include those in Business/Commerce, Life Sciences and Engineering. Some of the most popular are Management, Psychology, English, Biology and Human Biology.

Graduate

  • The University of Toronto offers approximately 215 graduate programs; this includes doctoral and master’s programs
  • The University of Toronto offers approximately 63 professional programs plus 18 combined programs, which includes professional master’s components

TUITION

1. Domestic

Undergraduate Programs

  • Tuition cost for first-entry domestic undergraduate students for 2012-2013 ranges from approximately $5,695* to $13,203 depending on the program
  • The University of Toronto has a policy that ensures no student admitted to a program at the university will be unable to enroll or complete the program because they do not have sufficient funds.

Graduate Programs (Graduate studies/Masters/PhD/Profession Programs)

  • Tuition cost for domestic graduate students for 2012-2013 ranges from approximately $7,160 to $41,258 depending on the program. All doctoral stream graduate programs guarantee financial support for eligible graduate students. Partial funding may be available to graduate students in other programs.

2. International

Undergraduate Programs

  • Tuition cost for international undergraduate students in first-entry programs for 2012-2013 ranges from approximately $24,709 to $31,961 depending on the program

Graduate Programs (Graduate studies/Masters/PhD/Profession Programs)

  • Tuition cost for international graduate students for 2012-2013 ranges from approximately $16,886 to $48,293 depending on the program

RESIDENCES AND CLUBS

1. St. George Campus

  • The University of Toronto at St. George has 10 residences: eight residences belonging to one of our seven colleges, Chestnut Residence, Graduate House and Student Family Housing.
  • The St. George campus is accomodating 6,350 students in its 11 residences for 2012 – 2013
  • The University of Toronto has a housing guarantee for students entering their first year. Residence is guaranteed for all new full-time students entering their first year of university in an undergraduate program for the first time, provided that they have indicated their interest in residence by completing the University’s common residence application by March 31, and have received and accepted an offer of admission by June 3.

2. Scarborough Campus

  • The Scarborough campus is accommodating 765 students in residence for 2012 – 2013

3. Mississauga Campus

  • The Mississauga campus is accommodating 1,537 students in residence for 2012– 2013

  • The University of Toronto’s operating budget for 2012– 2013 is $1.8 billion
  • The University of Toronto’s estimated economic impact in the GTA is approximately $6.3 billion
